MCPS Highlights

What is new in our Community

Registration continues through the summer for Prekindergarten and Head Start programs for children who will be 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2018. MCPS offers a free prekindergarten program in schools throughout the county for income-eligible families. This program gives children the skills and knowledge they need to be ready for kindergarten.
This fall, MCPS will open an early childhood center at MacDonald Knolls. Classes on site will include early childhood special education classes and full-day Prekindergarten classes for income eligible four-year-olds.
Additional sites throughout the county will also offer full-day Prekindergarten classes. Register today! Spaces are still available for the 2018-2019 program.
